This year’s membership drive is starting soon.

From September 1 - October 31 we'll be going door-to-door offering everyone a chance to join the Parkallen Community League.

Can you help?

We need up to 20 volunteer canvassers. Each will have an area of 50 or fewer addresses. It’s a fantastic way to meet your neighbours, get in a healthy fall walk and check out the gorgeous gardens in Parkallen.

The theme of the mural is “What makes Parkallen a great place to live?” and will include the past 150 years, now and into the future. The Artist Assistant Position will support the Professional Mural Artist, Theodora Harasymiw who has been hired by the Parkallen Community League to facilitate our community mural art project. Civics Committee - Members Wanted!

The Civics Committee’s responsibility is to monitor development within and around Parkallen and to represent our community at public engagement opportunities on various projects that impact our community. This includes infill development, infrastructure renewal, changes to transportation routes, parking, transit and the continuing development of UofA’s South campus. These efforts will be organized by our newly elected Civics Director Robert Zylstra. Robert moved to Parkallen from Saskatoon three years ago and works with the Saskatchewan Library Webservices. Playground Leader Wanted

Parkallen 2017 Annual General Meeting

Parkallen Community League invites everyone to join us for our annual general meeting. Learn what is going on in your community, find out about open volunteer positions, participate in the election of officers and hear a presentation of our financial report. This meeting will also include an open discussion on Neighbourhood Watch and Abundant Edmonton.

Parkallen is in need of dedicated volunteers! Available positions include:

Vice President, Parks & Rec Director, Communications Director, Newsletter Editor, Casino Coordinator, Hall Maintenance and an opening for a Housing, Planning and Civics Committee Chair.

Youth Night - Hide, Seek N' Sort

Dear Parents and Guardians, Parkallen Social has had a great time hosting Youth Events these past few months. One thing we find beneficial to include in these events is volunteerism. One of the Parkallen Social Committee members, Jeremiah Basuric, works at The Mustard Seed, an organization serving persons experiencing poverty and homelessness in Edmonton. One of his roles includes hosting various volunteer groups of all ages at The Mustard Seed. The most common task for these volunteer groups is sorting clothing at The Mustard Seed Personal Assistance Centre (10568 - 114 Street NW). Parkallen Social invites youth to come help sort articles of clothing on Friday, March 31st from 7 pm - 9 pm. We hosted the same event last year and participants greatly enjoyed it. The Personal Assistance Centre is located in a safe area of town between Grant MacEwan and Oliver Square.
