Parkallen Window Art Gallery - Coming in March!

Let’s Turn Our Neighbourhood into the Parkallen Window Art Gallery!

Winter can make our neighbourhood feel a little quieter—but we can change that together. We’re inviting residents of all ages to take part in a Parkallen Window Art Gallery, a simple and joyful way to brighten our streets, encourage winter walks, and celebrate the creativity that lives right here in our community.

The idea is easy: For the month of March, create artwork and display it in a front-facing window for neighbours to enjoy as they pass by. Your display could be anything—children’s drawings, paintings, photography, seasonal scenes, inspirational quotes, paper crafts, knitted pieces, or a light display.  You can even make sculptures or a themed exhibit in your front yard. Whether you’re an experienced artist or just having fun with markers and construction paper, every contribution adds colour and personality to our streets.

This window art gallery is about more than decoration. It’s a way to:

·  Brighten up the neighbourhood during the darker, colder months

·  Encourage people to get outside and go for walks, even when it’s chilly

·  Showcase the creativity and talent of residents of all ages

·  Build a stronger sense of connection within our community

Imagine families bundling up for an evening stroll to see what’s new in everyone’s windows, or neighbours discovering hidden artistic talents just a few doors down. Small moments like these can make winter feel warmer.

How to participate:

1.     Create your artwork (solo, with family, or with roommates)

2.     Place it in a front window where it can be seen from the sidewalk

3.     Refresh or change your display whenever inspiration strikes

Let’s fill our streets with colour, creativity, and community spirit. Grab your art supplies, get creative, and help turn our neighbourhood into a walkable gallery everyone can enjoy.  Art has no rules, so let your creativity guide you!
